Hello, my beautiful new friend, nice to meet you!
I’m Rachel Jones, the local mama who created Edmomton — a blog all about new motherhood in Edmonton and beyond. I’m a 29-year-old new mom and wife. Professionally and personally, I’m a talker, writer, connector, planner and extrovert. Last year, I left the desk job of my dreams to work at home and raise my toddler, Alex. Blogging is how I stay sane and use my talents, while momming.
My little family of three lives in the Warehouse District of Downtown Edmonton. Life downtown is wonderful, walkable and vibrant. With my little in tow, I visit nearby coffee shops, festivals, pubs, restaurants and the City Market Downtown — never leaving without the humungous bag of freshly popped kettle corn. I love the core, and I loathe it at times, too.
I moved from Calgary to Edmonton in 2013, got engaged, and got married the next year at the Yellowed Brewery. Me and Mr. Jones honeymooned in Jasper, and nine months later, Alex came along.
I had my son in our loft, an unplanned home birth. The changes that came with new motherhood catapulted me into blogging. I loooooove to connect with folks from all walks of life, but have a soft spot for new mothers. I’m an extrovert, sunshine-type with unbridled enthusiasm. I crave strong lattes, a good run, juicy documentaries and mountain getaways. I love to write, too, so here I am.
Thank you for reading!
