10 Things to Do in June for Babies + Toddlers in Edmonton | 2017

June is almost here… yasssss! The summer months have many new moms (and dads, of course) itching to find fun things to do that are baby-friendly.

So, what is there to do for babies and toddlers in Edmonton?

My list below (for June) will have you covered for the youngest crowd, perfect for new moms, newborns, babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Get out your calendar and start marking dates.

Be sure to grab bug spray and sunscreen before you head out! (I think I’m going to try some non-toxic Bug Spray from Authentically Healing You or  Children’s Bug Potion from Lauren Mary Holistics)

10 Things to Do in June for Babies + Toddlers in Edmonton

1 | Get Outdoors | Hike a trail less traveled with Hike it Baby’s Edmonton Branch. Join their Facebook Group to get started. It’s free, it’s outdoors, and it’s so fun to walk the trails with other moms. You’ll hike Rundle Park, Millcreek, all over the river valley and more.

2 | Splash, Splash, Splash! | Visit your favourite Spray Park on a hot day. Make sure you check out Just Another Edmonton Mommy’s ultimate list of spray parks in the city.

3 | Connect with other New Edmonton Moms | Is your baby between the age of six weeks and six months? Register for an upcoming New Mom’s Network program at your local Public Health Centre by calling 780-401-2665. These groups fill up quickly!

4 | Discover the Library | Go to Laptime or Sing, Sign, Laugh & Learn for babies and toddlers at your local Edmonton Public Library. Use the EPL website to search for programs near you.

5 | Take in Toddler Town | at the International Children’s Festival of the Arts (St. Albert). For 0 to 4 year olds, there is music, activities (like sensory bins) and plenty of space to explore. It runs May 30 – June 4. Read Modern Mama’s write-up all about Toddler Town here!

6 | Have Fun at Tot Time in Millwoods | Head to Millwoods Town Centre for their monthly (free) Tot Time on Tuesday, June 6 at 10am. See Box Social Event Planning’s Calendar for more information.

7 | Go to the Teddy Bear Picnic | Go to the free Teddy Bear Picnic at Lion’s Park in St. Albert on Saturday, June 10, from 10am – 1pm. See Box Social’s Calendar for more information.

8 | Assemble Sensory Bins for Canada’s 150th | Create two Canada-themed sensory bins (for ages 1 – 4) on June 24 at Early Learning Childcare downtown. (There are toys to play with, bring your littles along, too!) While you assemble the bins, there will be Doughnut Party to snack on and Tim Hortons coffee to drink. Facebook event is here — and tickets can be purchased here.

9 | Play at Martin Deerline | Go to Martin Deerline’s Day of Play on June 24, from 10am – 2pm. There will be bouncy castles, pedal tractors, animals for petting and more.

10 | Craft with Just Another Edmonton Mommy | Check out Canada Day Crafts at Super Kids in St. Albert Centre, with Just Another Edmonton Mommy and Box Social Event Planning! This awesome festive event is on Thursday, June 29 from 9am – 11am.

Enjoy June in Edmonton, Mommas!
